HIPPEX Centrifugation Medium (HCM).

The use of Hippex semen extender for fresh or chilled semen renders centrifugation of diluted semen to remove the plasma in most cases unnecessary. Even without centrifugation, the storage capacity of the extender is beyond expectation, while the fertility of the diluted sperm cells is at least at an acceptable level.

However, when the concentration of sperm cells in the ejaculate is too low, the semen can be diluted with an equal volume of HCM (D1) (dilution ratio 1/1) and then be subjected to centrifugation. Thereafter, the concentrated sperm cells can be diluted with Hippex extender (D2) to the desired concentration for fresh use or cooled transport.
